Located in a magnificent listed building a stone’s throw
from the European Parliament, the Ancienne Poissonnerie is the ideal restaurant
for business lunches and romantic dinners.
The Italian
food it serves is typically Mediterranean, but strongly influenced by the Sorrento tradition and the Amalfi coast. In
fact, the owner was born in Naples, although he
has been living in Brussels
almost ever since.
“While I
now mostly work as a manager”, Nicola Piscopo tells us, “my true passion is food.” Indeed, the style of the restaurant
recalls his expereince as a chef aiming for simple and natural food using
selected typical regional products.
“At
the same time, I like to experiment,” adds Nicola. As well as the popular fish
dishes, the Ancienne Poissonnerie offers some specialities worth trying. For
example, the pappardelle with
vanilla, a dish that Nicola came up with when cooking for his children at home.
